ヴェルサイユ建築国立大学合同ワークショップ「P45 TOKYO TOGETHER」
2023年4月、ヴェルサイユ建築国立大学の教師や修士生と、私たち早稲田大学大学院小林恵吾研究室が2018年以来5年ぶりの合同ワークショップを行った。
今回の対象敷地はキャンパス北部に位置する雑司ヶ谷エリアとし、都市の形態学、雑司ヶ谷の人口動態と住宅事情、移動する都市、活動的都市における能動的な居住区、「雑司ヶ谷らしい」住まい、雑司ヶ谷のコミュニティの6つの切り口に分かれて、それぞれの切り口から雑司ヶ谷の課題を見出し、各グループが最終的に課題解決に繋がる建築を各々提案した。
リサーチの期間も含め計2週間でアウトプットを目指し、ヴェルサイユ建築国立大学の学生が事前に行ってくれた都市リサーチをもとに最もふさわしい敷地を、バックグラウンドの異なる意見を交流しながら発見、その後敷地分析を行いつつ模型や図面によって表現した。
最終プレゼンテーションでは、6チームの模型が集結し両大学の教師からフィードバックを頂いた。お互いに設計の考え方や手法の違いに留まらず、文化や習慣、趣味の違いといった所まで学ぶことができた、非常に刺激的で濃密な二週間である。また、雑司ヶ谷の調査を通して、外から見た日本の都市や木造密集地域についてどのようなイメージを抱いているのか深く知ることのできる貴重な機会でもあった。今でもフランスで私たちと同じように建築を愛してやまない親友たちへ深い感謝を述べながら、これからもお互いに頑張っていきたい。
In April 2023, teachers and master students of the National University of Architecture of Versailles and we, the Keigo Kobayashi Laboratory of the Graduate School of Waseda University, held our first joint workshop in five years since 2018.
The target site this time was the Zoshigaya area, located in the northern part of the campus, and we were divided into 6 groups to discuss issues in Zoshigaya from each of the following six angles: urban morphology, demographics and housing situation in Zoshigaya, mobile city, active residential area in an active city, “Zoshigaya-like” housing, and Zoshigaya’s community. Each group proposed an architecture that would ultimately lead to a solution to the issues.
The teams had two weeks to produce their proposals, including the research period. Based on the urban research conducted by the students of the National University of Architecture of Versailles, the most suitable site was found through exchanges of opinions from different backgrounds, followed by site analysis, models, and drawings.
In the final presentation, the six teams gathered their models and received feedback from teachers from both universities. It was a very stimulating and intense two weeks, during which we were able to learn not only about each other’s design ideas and methods, but also about differences in culture, customs, and hobbies. The research in Zoshigaya was also a valuable opportunity for us to learn more about the image of Japanese cities and densely wooded areas from the outside. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to our good friends in France who still love architecture as much as we do, and we would like to continue to work hard for each other.
